Journey North

I came across an interesting website several years ago that tracks the northward migration of hummingbirds (and others) every year. It is called Journey North. The hummingbirds have been spotted in OK and MO so they should be in KS soon. I put my hummingbird feeder out this week. I usually only see them in my garden in the spring and fall as they are migrating through but I know they do nest here (a friend has them all summer long on her families farm in Spivey, KS). Check it out:

I wish we had them here. They would be great to see in the garden. Our garden is starting to sprout into bloom so I cant wait to get some nice bird pics this year :-)

Although it's not warm enough for hummingbirds here, the birds are singing like crazy early in the morning. Spring is coming here in the frozen Northeast, albeit VERY slowly.
